This attachment is an old article, (with new ads!), making new rounds because it is brilliant in its coverage of Church based evangelism being used to push the soft power of the US, through harvesting of "lost souls". Of course India is the number one target, but also the poor suckers in US prisons, as well as Sudan, and so obviously now the Latino destitute hordes arriving on America's borders. But India is the % #1 target, for obvious reasons of its population & rising power!
This is the battlefield for Dharma, or the Kurukshetra as we say in the Mahābhārata, which we find ourselves in, wittingly or not. Mostly unwittingly, because we fail to see larger, slow moving patterns in the big picture, moving against Dharma, impossible to sustain either our sanity or the Earth.
How to counter such memetic viruses, cancer-like expansionist models, and further empowered by recent loot of enormous wealth & material power?
It is tough, but whoever said that the path of Yoga was for the faint of heart!
The Tāntric model of Yoga provides us with personal/small-group empowerment, and the Vedic model of Yoga provides us with large-group/tribal empowerment. Together they are undoubtedly capable of expressing the highest of human potential. It is the height of stupidity to pit these two against each other, and further conflate them with externally imposed racist paradigms. The world loses.
It is our consideration that Tantra + Vedic models of Yoga are optimally suited to the human condition, and this has been shown in practice too.
There is ample empirical evidence that (currently named) India had mostly the largest GDP for couple millennia, and further conquered China through its soft power. So you can say Indic civilization controlled 50% of the "wealth" of the world for a long time - without major military madness. Where there is ample wealth it minimizes the need to put other humans into slavery. Everyone feels generous and instincts for oppression are suppressed. It is only when there is palpable misery that humans descend to the levels of Lord of the Flies - which for some bizarre psychotic reason is taught to American Middle School kids!
Further the spread of Indic soft power was much more organic, embracing and adapting to diversity, so it didn't obliterate entire civilizational cultures like monomaniacal Church evangelism.
We acknowledge negatives in the Hindu culture too.
For examples at the extreme in Tantra practices one can get mind control nutcases. Likewise when Vedic knowledge is misinterpreted it could lead to feelings of superiority over "lesser" humans.
But when the raw psychic power of Tantra is combined with the hyper-rational approach of Vedic practices, they act as a perfect pair. One empowers within, and the other diffuses this power to all of society.
This is our दृष्टी Drishti, or psychic gaze.
In a world of conscious beings it is not just the quality of our attention, but also the intention of our attention, the दृष्टी Drishti, that manifests Reality.
