Integrate the West
the duels of Dualism
the duels of Dualism
Generally, all western democracies are dualistic - and thus ever prone to duelling too, since there is always the "Other" to overcome in their perspective.
The elephant in the geo-political room we have to tango with is the predominant super-power of America.
We have to first understand this thoroughly before prancing onto the global stage.
Solving for America, would solve for the West in one stroke.
Many are not aware that the “official” grand narrative for the American nation-state, as crafted by intellectual think tanks, is “American Exceptionalism”, that is, a nation exceptionally better than all else in the world.
But what is the basis of this exceptionalism?
When it is based on imperialism, this merely affirms the racist underpinnings of the nation's origins based on deifying its founding fathers despite their obvious flaws and sweeps away any of their inconvenient aberrations under the rug.
A Epic Avatār candidate is the American Eagle, a bird native to the land, as it is a symbol which :
provides clarity of vision for taking the long view,
instills boldness of enterprise ever-watchful for opportunity, and of course is
rising above any human psychological flaws, such as partiality towards a particular type of people.
Interestingly, the eagle in the form of Garuda from the Hindu civilization is known in that culture as an embodiment of the Veda which is the oldest recorded knowledge base known to Humanity. This could help in resolving the two civilizations' narratives too.
With its technological knowledge base the American nation-state is certainly an embodiment of such an Avatār, and worthy of the vision of Star Trek itself, not for mere plebeian mercantile-driven conquest alone but for the sheer joy of discovering the secrets of the unfolding Universe.
An Avatār would need far more than just a symbol though, for by definition it is a vast web of interconnected mystical stories, unfortunately much of it has been lost along with the genocide of its native populations.
But there is much that can be recovered and created anew too, in the classic spirit of American renewal.
It is time we created a Human Intelligence Party that acknowledges every American's innate mindset for unbounded aspirations, and also resolves them when unchecked giving rise to the kind of existential issues we face today.
This socioeconomic order has a charter whose principles are:
based on an egalitarian global governance model - the AI/network-enabled state - that is completely decentralized and focuses only on the essentials such as law (including financial regulations) & order (including defense).
open enough that any individual’s creative expression not be curtailed in any manner except when it violates #1
not fixated on an external creator but that we are all co-creators of it, in it, by it - the Yogic model.
There are many existing charters such as Constitutions and many statements in them are laudable, but these documents need to be inspired by Dhārmic ideals.
All such charters have been framed in a different time, usually by a cohort that was 99% male, and inspired by deep biases from, most often, religious principles that claim to be the Truth that is universal & timeless.
Truth is the subjective experience of objective facts. Just stare at this for a bit.
However, having been deeply conditioned by the single Book model, the single version of Truth always looms large in the Western mindset.
Note, the Bohm-ian aproach to dispute resolution, which we are encoding in our GITC.
Just because we are aiming for a convergence to Truth it does not mean the process of it needs to be Mon-istic in any way (e.g. mono -theistic, -polistic, -maniacal, etc.)
Non-Dual does not mean Monistic. What it means is that we acknowledge there will always be some amount of healthy divergences of Thought into two (or even more camps) and we are always adjusting to approach convergence.
Even if we achieve full convergence between all camps, they will likely diverge again as time goes by.
Truth is a seeking, a process that is dynamic, and not fixed or fixated on immutable concepts, and needs two or more different perspectives to see clearly.
The finding of Truth can be likened to a flock of birds adjusting to weather patterns and larger evolutionary needs, the whole literally becoming a super-organism, like a bird of birds.
A bird needs two wings to fly, in even-winds with both in balance, and in off-winds maybe one or the other dominates until the turbulence passes.
At present there is no common ground between Right & Left wings.
The Right is characterized by Convergent Thinking, with clear boundaries such as standardized moral codes of behavior.
Paradoxically it can be argued that Right-wingers think with their rational left-brain because it is an axiomatic, rule-based system, which of course could lead to the self-righteousness of absolute certainty in Truth of its axioms, and thus lead to the Right’s own version of extremism.
It is easy to see who is being Extreme Right-Wing because by definition Convergence is a boundary-based model, e.g. Racists who create boundaries based on skin color would be, ahem, outside the pale for sane Right-wingers.
The Left is characterized by Divergent Thinking, with no boundaries per se, such as championing subjective moral codes of behavior, in their postmodern zeal to throw off all external authority.
Paradoxically it can be argued that Left-wingers think with their emotional right-brain, or their “heart” as they emotionally put it, where there are no rules per se, mostly feelings & emotions to guide them on the path of making decisions. The Left’s version of Extremism is a bit tangled and may seem harder to spot.
It is hard to see who is outside the borders of the Left Wing because the entire philosophy is boundary-less, yet it is possible to observe left-wing extremism in play when they refuse to acknowledge all boundaries, such as infringing on right to property, be it personal (through taxation without representation) or national boundaries (such as through illegal immigration).
After all, this is a socioeconomic world we live in, and not just a random social group of “Likes/Hearts”. Without economics rooted in property rights, physical or intellectual, society would not be viable.
Of course, all of Society is not just about Economics, it’s also about other Values, such as moral behavior for example.
All well-meaning writers on Moral Philosophy make implicit, unquestioning assumption that Morality is the root of human behavior, and they note too humanity’s tendency to create groups that share similar moral codes thus confirming their good/bad choices.
Although this observation is correct, it is shallow, as it is but a post-facto observation and buckets a certain set of Moral Codes as universal axioms, or at least unchanging axioms.
Ethics as a universal moral framework applicable to all of humanity is probably a better lens, but that too has its roots in axiomatic theory, which although convenient, will also fail at some point.
To realize an enduring vision of the American Eagle as the aspirational Avatar, we also need to ask ourselves at all times whether our actions are Sustainable or not. Sustainability is literally, and etymologically the meaning of Dharma.
We can also agree that in the age of ready answers from Google that its opposite, that is, correct questioning then becomes the true sign of Human intelligence, like with ChatGPT prompts.
Thus questioning at all times whether our actions are aligned with Dharma is a good idea.
Dharma is the opposite of an axiomatic system that assumes some “higher power” has the perfect set of answers for all time, or a perfect framework to shape our Mind.
It is not that we are perennially questioning without Converging to concrete Thought, but rather our pillars of Morality rise spontaneously in harmony with Dharma, without being enforced by “good authority.”
And depending on the situation, over time these pillars could change, and no, this is not Moral Relativism because there is a deep guidance principle of Dharma at work here.
The entire process is also rooted in realizing the integrated One-ness of this Uni-verse, which is the fundamental model of Yoga to begin with, and will thus result in less conflicted fragmentation of the human condition.
It is not that there is One Dharma, but it is more the Dharma of Oneness, allowing diversity its full expression yet minimize conflict with the integration power of Yoga.
This is similar to one of our charter statements that it is not that there is One Creator, but it is more that we are living in an Ocean of Creation, a continuous process in which each of us is empowered to create and surf our own waves - as long as we don’t crash into someone else’s.
There are no fossilized nouns or objects, only dynamic verbs or processes, because that is what aids in evolution.
The best embodiment we have already discussed in the Churn for Bhārat
Thus the foundation for the Human Intelligence Party is:
Start with the Oneness mindset of the Conscious Universe of Brhman,
Imbue it with the continual reflection on Dharma, and
Keep continuously integrating with Yoga
